Serenity Farm

As of January of 2011, we have been working on a new property. We purchased ten acres of land with a house that is over 100 years old. The house was moved to the property, from all appearance, in three sections. My husband has worked hard bringing the property back under control. He has rough plowed a few garden spaces to see what we have and what we need.

Spring 2010

We are now in May of 2010. The garden is in and doing well. We have had a decent amount of rain, but we have also added soaker hose down many of our rows. Maybe I should say my husband has. Last year the rain came and basically destroyed most of our crops. We did get a lot of squash, however it played out before it's time due to bugs and white mildew.

We have a good variety this year and I look forward to posting pictures and updating my page. We are involved in a new project this year. We have started a rabbitry. You can view Taylor Made Rabbitry from the link here. You will see my story and pictures of our rabbits.

Stay tuned.

2009 Backyard Endeavors

Here we are. Another spring just a few weeks away. As always, it will be nice to see the brown, beige, and gold of fall and winter replaced by the new green growth and warmer temperatures of spring. At the end of each season most of us are ready to experience the season ahead.

Time to till the garden and plant veggies for the table. I look forward to watching seeds sprout, grow, and produce. It's a lot of work with great rewards. Just in the beauty of the season and plants. So starting surfing the web and checking out garden shows and magazines, ex. Park Seed. Keep it simple.
